Community Donations
We often have people collect and bring us donations out of the kindness of their hearts. This means the world to us as this is how our shelter can thrive. We would not be able to do what we do without this kind of community support.
Rainbow Girls
We had a wonderful group of ladies come to volunteer. The Rainbow Girls walked dogs, cleaned the cat room, swept and mopped the floors, played with kittens and puppies. It was a joy to have them volunteering today. They even got to witness a dog go out on trial (more on that when it becomes official) Thanks ladies for your dedication to community service. You are all very special.

Little Volunteers
We have had a few kids at the shelter, giving our dogs some much-needed enrichment!
Many shelter dogs show stress-related behaviors due to their environment. Enrichment can help alleviate anxiety and improve behavior by providing constructive outlets for their energy while releasing feel good hormones in their brain! This also help socialize our dogs to kids of all ages.

NHS Volunteers
We had an amazing group of young people come to the shelter from the National Honor Society. They did just about everything they could to make the shelter shine! From cleaning the runs inside and out, to de-furring the cat towers, and even yard work. They took direction so well and carried out every task we asked them to do. The dogs are wore out from the walks and play they got from this group.

Waynesville HS Students
We have had a couple of groups from the Waynesville High School come to work at the shelter. These groups had been coming out once a month to spend time with the cats and dogs at the shelter. They decorated individual stockings for the animals. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to give these students an avenue to strengthen their social skills and to give the animals lots of love. A huge thank you to them.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus
It was a very merry Christmas for many animals to have a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. How special it was for these families to be able to get their fur baby's picture to display for the holidays. We are hoping that Mr. and Mrs. Clause will visit us each year to continue the tradition.
